Two 6-Figure Heavyweights Totaling $1.2 Million Top This Week’s Domain Sales Chart

The # 3 spot on our latest all extension
Top 20 Sales Chart
went to a new gTLD – a $22,000 sale of We.global
that was put together by Mark Ghoriafi, the Marketing
Manager for Premium Domains at the .GLOBAL
Registry
. This is one of more than 20 premium sales Mark
has booked since joining the company last spring.

The top five was rounded out by a pair of
domains that tied for #4 at $15,000. One was the week’s top
ccTLD
sale, Tenga.co, and the other was Sedo’s sale of Bittop.com.
Buzzoo.com,
who sold Tenga.co after being contacted by the GoDaddy
Domain Buy Service
(acting on behalf of the buyer) could
claim a tie-breaker because the buyer would have paid an additional
20% ($3,000) to GoDaddy for their help in acquiring the domain.

The .coms scored their usual win in
the extension race, taking 13 of 21 positions on the leader board (the
extra spot resulting from a three-way tie for the final position). Jason
Eisler
at DNAdvisor.com
helped the .com cause by brokering the $12,500 sale of #7
LocalFlorist.com
. IndusDomains.com
also lent a hand with their $12,000 sale of #8 IVFDoctor.com.

The non .com gTLDs claimed five
places on the elite list, all new gTLDs. Three .global domains were
joined by Sedo’s $11,785 sale of #9 Dental.store and
the  $7,000 sale of #15 (tie) Shaw.nyc that Developed.nyc
made through Afternic.

The remaining spots went to three ccTLDs
with Tenga.co being joined by two Sedo sales – #6 MyHead.co.uk
at $12,594 and #12 Rentberry.ca at $8,888. Sedo
went on to pile up 14 chart entries to lead all venues.

One more note before we go to this week’s
charts – in case you missed the big
news
about the $11 million sale of Tesla.com
in 2016 that broke this past weekend. With Tesla Founder Elon Musk
confirming the price for the first time in a post on his Twitter feed,
we have added that sale to our 2016
Top 100 Sales Chart
where it now reigns as the top sale of
that year. It has also been added at #2 to a list of the all-time
Top 20 cash sales
confirmed since we started tracking the
domain aftermarket in 2003.

Country Codes

The ccTLDs were led
by that trio of names you saw on the all extension leader board
above with Tenga.co setting the pace at $15,000. The
biggest sale in this category that you haven’t seen yet is #4 on
our latest weekly Country Code Top Sales
Chart
. That is Sedo’s $5,700 sale of GamingPCShop.nl

Sedo went on to sweep 17 of the 19 chart entries
including the rest of the top ten with a group that included #5 Tot.io
at $4,950. Aside from Buzzoo.com’s sale of the#1 domain,
Sedo took everything else except DomainLore.co.uk’s
$1,399
sale of #19 Kickboxing.co.uk

It was another very diverse week for the ccTLDs with
13
different TLDs represented on the leader board. France’s .fr
won the extension race with four chart entries. No other TLD had
more than two. Here is how the
